October: Think Pink

Sorry I've been a slacker. October is my favorite month for many reasons (Halloween, my birthday, leaves changing, and great weather). But one of the most important things about October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. So ladies, think pink!

Flowers

Agnes is loving bows, I'm loving flowers. You can wear these flowers many different ways: dressed up, dressed down, as a pin, on a belt, on a bag, or in your hair. These quirky flowers add a punch of color and fun. It makes whatever you are wearing special, just like a corsage.

These pretties and photos are from Emerson Made.

Urban Weeds and Moonwoods Frames

Another blog I love is Urban Weeds: Portland Street Style.

If you have ever been to Portland, Oregon and wandered around you will some pretty unique things. When I first went there I seriously drooled over some of the girls I saw walking around because they were sporting the CUTEST things. Those short-lived girl crushes break my heart every time when it is time to return home. But, maybe it is best this way, that why, I can imagine Portland as a magical place (fashion, music, & amazing food!) and I don't focus on the other things, like crime, traffic, and crackheads. Enough with that digression... I love Urban weeds because like The Sartorialist blog, it shows real folks on the street, and of course what they are wearing. Urban Weeds shows folks in Portland, gives a mini background (like what they do for work or hobbies), and where their clothes and accessories come from.

While browsing Urban Weeds one day I ran into a post featuring Danielle. Very adorable girl. Her glasses are too cute and are made out of wood.

Check out the frames at Moonwoods!

Our local skate and board shop carries these but are sold out every time we are in. I really, REALLY want to try out a pair, like yesterday. I have been so obsessed with things made out of wood and metal/steel lately.  I want a crazy metal house, but that is a topic for another day. :)

Bows

I started to blog about this a while ago, but it didn't happen. I really love the large bow trend that seems to be happening.

This one isn't so much a "bow," but it still has the same look I like..

The above photo comes from a blog that I love, so much so it is one in my google reader. Sometimes there are photos of runway shows, but mostly the photos come from real people that the photographer meets on the street around the world. Sounds like a neat job, huh? Anyways, you can view the blog here: The Sartorialist.

Even the First Lady, Michelle Obama:

She has great style for a First Lady.

Why can't we get this in a big girl's size?

I Guess He's an Xbox and I'm More Atari...

That newest Cee Lo single is hella catchy and dancey. I dig it.

The last couple days I have been watching Cake Boss on Netflix instant stream. I like it a lot so far. More than the Ace of Cakes show. Maybe because all the people working at the bakery on Cake Boss are related so there is more drama? My only complaint is that sometimes the fighting and shouting gets annoying.

I went to evogear.com to browse snowboard gear and found other pretties instead... after the jump..

Polyvore Mini Editor!

Polyvore is one of my favorite sites on the web! Once you register, you can create fashion/art sets. It's also a great way to shop, design outfits, and find out the latest trends. It's the same site I've been using for my character chic sets.

Polyvore has now launched a mini editor for bloggers to post on their blogs. The items for the mini editor are chosen by the blogger and the readers have a chance to make fashionable sets right on the blog! Give it a try! You just need a polyvore account. The best part is one blogger and one reader will win a $1,000 visa gift card! This ends 9/7, so get to it!

Mad Men's Bethany vs. True Blood's Sarah

The Bethany character on Mad Men is seriously bothering me. I cringe when I see her on Mad Men because...

I can't stop thinking of her as Fellowship of the Sun's Sarah from True Blood.

This one is extra disturbing. Classy ladies do not lick bottles of Bud!

Character Chic: Annie Hall

Diane Keaton made her own wardrobe iconic in the Woody Allen favorite, Annie Hall.  Menswear is making a comeback this fall. Blazer, trousers, vests, and brogues for women. Brogues do tend to run narrow, so keep this is mind when shopping for this style of shoe.

Online Shopping

Eleanor & Agnes shopping buddies, just like Paris & Kim! ha!

Online shopping Pros
-More selection
-More stores (especially if you live somewhere like rural WV)
-Packages delivered right to your house
-Shopping in your PJs on your couch
-Easier to compare prices at different stores
-Ability to read reviews

Online shopping Cons
-Expensive shipping prices
-You can't try on the clothes (a lot of stores have easy return labels and free return shipping though)

One of my new favorite sites to remedy my online shopping cons: Retail Me Not
I have saved $31 with this site just this week! I've placed a lot of online orders this week preparing for a reception party we are throwing for my brother and his new wife.

The site is simple to use, just type in the store you want a coupon for and it will show everything that is available. It also gives you a percentage of how often the coupon works and a date if the coupon expires by a certain time.

Give it a try!

Shade Clothing Sale

I just noticed a post about this in my rss feed reader...

Shade Clothing is having a liquidation sale, online and in stores. I have never bought anything from shade but their things seem basic enough that just about anyone could like them. I just browsed the website and I didn't see any great deals to get crazy excited about.

I do see a pretty blue cardigan, but all that is left is large.

Check out the stripped tank.
I like that color green.

Character Chic: Emma Pillsbury

One of my favorite things about the end of summer is the beginning of fall! I love the clothes, the weather, and the return of all our favorite TV shows. Glee was Fox's quirky, musical hit last year. I've been spending my Thursday nights this summer catching up on all the reruns of Glee to see what all the buzz was about.

I immediately had a girl crush on the school's OCD counselor, Emma Pillsbury. That red bob, those big dow eyes, and that adorable sweater clip! Emma's style is colorful, preppy, and as organized as her personality.

To snag Emma's style this fall think about:
1. Colorful sweater sets
2. Pencil skirts
3. Maryjanes
4. Brooches
5. Chunky statement necklaces
6. Blouses with pretty collars (peter pan or bows)
7. Don't forget the sweater clip!

Here are some adorable sweater clips available on etsy:

Enjoy!

Chemist

I love my current sunglasses. They are made by Smith Optics. They are little spendy retail price, but if you can find them on sale on a style you like then I suggest you snag a pair! When I buy cheap sunglasses or "designer" glasses at TJ Maxx they always fall apart on me. I have been wearing Smith sunglasses since 2007 and they haven't fallen apart yet! Plus, Smith is an Idaho company---holler! And make snowboarding goggles (which I also wear)---holler again!! I.am.a.Smith.whore. The glasses I am currently rocking are $140 retail but I snagged them a while ago for $40 off steapandcheap.com.

Smith tends to be a little more sporty than fashionable, but I have seen where they are putting out more and more styles over the last few years, and they got some hot sex frames, even prescription eye wear.

I was at TJ Maxx earlier and I saw a super cute Michael Kors Orange Trench/Raincoat on a rack. Probably the cutest raincoat I have ever seen. Like a dummy I didn't think to look and see if there was a style so I could find it online and I can't remember exactly what it looked like enough to find it again online. It is kind of like when you see a super hot guy and it puts you in a trance and you get bad tunnel vision then later you're like, "WTF, just happened?" I do remember the tag saying $59.xx, so I dropped the tag and backed off the trench-coat. I only bought a pair of shoes at TJ Maxx. My beautiful/favorite Nine West black flats were destroyed by a golden retriever living under my roof a couple months ago (he chewed the toes off and now I have peep-toe flats), and I figured that since I am going to be job interviewing very soon then I am going to need a new pair of sassy black shoes... (I will try and remember to post a photo later). TJ Maxx (we have a Home Goods in ours) is having a major clearance sale right now. It is probably a seasonal thing so your TJ Maxx might be having one too!

Target.com has coupons right now for $ of clothing/house items. Pairing the coupons with sale/clearance items is going to be a good deal!

Casual Cutie, Reese Witherspoon

Testing out the new blog. It might be a little rough for a a while but overall it should be a fun experiment for me and the co-blogger, Eleanor!

Waaaay cute outfit!

I love everything about the look. I really love hats, especially fedoras. Love layering too. Wheee!

(I sound like 13-year-old blogger... I seriously lack inspiration this early on a Monday morning.)

I matched a similar look for less... after the jump...
